At Least One Major Twilight Star Ready to Return in the TV Adaptation
Having to wear yellow contacts can't keep this actor from returning to the Stephenie Meyer universe.
The new Twilight remake series is now in the early stages of production at Lionsgate, and the huge vampire saga fandom is rubbing their hands in anticipation and pulling out old posters. The legendary franchise returned to fan discussions and TikTok threads during the dull months of the COVID pandemic when a new generation of viewers discovered the love story of schoolgirl Bella Swan and vampire Edward Cullen on streaming services, and since then, the Twilight craze has only grown.
With all that, a TV remake of the franchise was only a matter of time. Of course, the very term 'remake' means that the faces on the Twilight posters will change, but does this mean all the characters need to be recast? Fans agree that it would certainly be nice to see some of the beloved stars reprise their roles. Luckily, such a chance does exist.
At least one major Twilight alum is ready to show off his sparkling vampire skin again, and that's none other than everyone's favorite Cullens patriarch, Peter Facinelli. Recently, the actor revealed that he hopes to lead the vegetarian vampire clan once again in the new project.
'If they call me, I'll be there,' Facinelli said at the Cameron Boyce Foundation Gala. 'If not, I'll be watching for sure.'
Such enthusiasm is undeniably heartwarming to all Twihards out there. Dr. Carlisle Cullen played a major role in all five movies in the franchise and, according to many fans, he was one of the best characters and the ultimate father figure. Facinelli shared this love for his character in an interview with Variety.
'Twilight, for me, was six years,' he said. 'When you finish those characters, it's really hard to put them away and move on. But then potentially to have an opportunity to maybe play them again is really cool.'
Despite having parted ways from his character over a decade ago, Facinelli definitely still has the looks to jump on the reboot bandwagon. In fact, just like his iconic character, he doesn't seem to have aged at all. Add a blonde wig and some vampire sparkle, and you have your perfect Carlisle Cullen. We are definitely here for this.
