Co-star speaks out about 'crucial' departure from show.

It appears that fans have mixed thoughts about Henry Cavill leaving The Witcher, feelings that are shared by fellow co-stars.

Ever since it was announced (much to the shock of fans) that Cavill would depart the Netflix fantasy series after the upcoming third season, audiences have been preparing for the next move.

It has left many anxious and agitated regarding the future direction of The Witcher. While many think Liam Hemsworth will do a fine job of replacing Cavill in subsequent seasons, it will still be difficult to say goodbye to the character. Of course, this is a sentiment shared by The Witcher co-stars, including Anya Chalotra.

Cast members upset with Cavill leaving The Witcher

Anya Chalotra is adamant that Cavill will be greatly missed once the cast and crew wrap up shooting for season three. The 28-year-old British actress, who plays the sorceress Yennefer in The Witcher, recently sat down with EW to describe the departure.

'[The cast and crew] is full of pride and love and accomplishment for what we've done,' Chalotra explained about working on The Witcher. '[The news] was hard to take because [Henry's] a crucial part of the show and we all adore him.'

Chalotra added that the rest of the cast is going to really miss Cavill and all that he brings to the set. Nevertheless, the other actors understand the reason for the departure and will continue to support him moving forward, whatever project Cavill pursues next.

The Witcher prepares for future episodes with Hemsworth

The shocking revelation that season three of The Witcher would be the last for Cavill was not received well by fans. Sadly, many hated the thought of watching the Netflix series without its primary star. Be that as it may, Cavill has insisted on social media that The Witcher will thrive even in his absence.

In fact, the 40-year-old has gone on record endorsing his future replacement, Liam Hemsworth, who will take over as Geralt beginning in season four of The Witcher. The feelings are mutual as Hemsworth has been found raving about the upcoming opportunity on his own social media accounts.

The Witcher season three promises huge surprises

The Witcher, which has sometimes been criticized in the past for not staying more true to the original books, promises a more faithful adaptation regarding season three. Netflix is already plugging the upcoming season for highlighting Geralt, along with taking many other surprise twists.

'[Season three] we really feel like it's when everything changes in the series,' The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich recently commented on the upcoming installment. The Witcher season three will be divided into two parts with part 1 of season three scheduled to premiere June 29 on Netflix. Meanwhile, part 2 is scheduled to arrive a month later, on July 27th.
