Andor Season 2 and 4 Other Most Anticipated Sci-Fi TV Series to Be Released in April 2025

Two finales of beloved series, a title from a Japanese master, and the continuation of the most important zombie show of our time.
April is the best month of the year for sci-fi fans. In just a few weeks, a good half of the most anticipated shows of 2025 will be released.
There is the best Star Wars series, the return of Black Mirror, and even Japanese anime from the creator of Cowboy Bebop.
1. The Last of Us Season 2
Release Date: April 13
An adaptation of the second game, the most controversial and even a bit scandalous. But the series is a different medium, and in it this story will look and be perceived differently. Especially since Neil Druckmann has already promised that the adaptation will not be literal.
Abby's backstory will be changed, and Kaitlyn Dever does not look like a character from the game at all. Considering the high quality of the first season, we expect a strong and emotional ending to the story in the second season.
2. Andor Season 2
Release Date: April 22
The finale of one of the most beloved Star Wars series is upon us. Before its release, Andor seemed like an unnecessary spin-off from the Rogue One movie, but by its second season, it had earned a reputation as the most mature and intelligent series in the galaxy far, far away.
Espionage and political maneuvering, death and betrayal, ambiguous characters, and villains capable of love and devotion to a cause – that's Andor.
The second season will be the last, leading up to Rogue One, which will bring the story full circle. But in the meantime, we should at least be introduced to the droid K-2SO, played by Alan Tudyk, and shown how he became Cassian's friend and companion.
3. Black Mirror Season 7
Release Date: April 10
Writer and producer Charlie Brooker continues to explore the dark side of high technology. This season promises pure sci-fi, without the so-called Red Mirror horror stories that have become increasingly common in recent seasons.
Directors Toby Haynes and David Slade have also returned to the series, and the Twelfth Doctor, Peter Capaldi, is among the cast.
4. The Handmaid's Tale Season 6
Release Date: April 8
In an alternate history, religious fanatics have seized power in the US. It is now the Republic of Gilead, where women have no rights and are subservient to men.
In the fifth season, the main character has already escaped from this hell to Canada and is no longer called Offred, but June Osborne. But Gilead is on the hunt for the fugitive, who is trying to start a rebellion.
This is the end of the story: the sixth season has been announced as the last. Judging by the trailer, June returns to Gilead and starts a revolution, turning the drama about oppression into a military thriller.
5. Lazarus
Release Date: April 6
Dr. Skinner created a miracle cure that became popular around the world. But three years later, the scientist released a chilling statement confessing that he had poisoned everyone.
The cure was a slow-acting poison that would soon kill anyone who took it. Unless the hunters found Skinner to get an antidote from him.
Lazarus was created by Shinichiro Watanabe. For those who have seen Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo or Space Dandy, there is no need to explain how good this man is as a storyteller. Watanabe knows how to combine humor, action and wise thoughts in his creations.
