And Just Like That Season 2: Is Steve Gone For Good?
Fans are disappointed with the way the writers have treated Steve.
Among the supporting characters of Sex and The City, Steve Brady always seemed like the nicest guy, supporting Miranda and really trying to stay by her side no matter what. That's why fans were happy to see Miranda and Steve married at the beginning of the sequel series And Just Like That…, hoping that nothing bad would happen to the beloved couple.
But sadly, the series' writers had another idea in mind and decided to destroy Steve as soon as possible.
In AJLT Season 1, viewers were appalled by how Miranda treated her husband, and some even started to skip the scenes with them. For many fans, it was unbearable to see Miranda cheat on Steve and refuse to even talk about him with her friends. Moreover, the writers simply refused to give actor David Eigenberg a chance to open up his character, barely including him in any scenes.
'After all that Miranda and Steve have gone through, all the years they've been married, she couldn't just, I don't know, communicate with her husband. I feel she's being selfish,' one fan said.
Fans hoped that Steve would be given more screen time in the current Season 2, but unfortunately, that didn't happen at all. Instead, the writers simply cut Steve out of the show altogether and spent more time developing newly introduced side characters that no one in the fandom really cares about.
Long-time fans of the franchise are obviously quite upset that Steve has been treated this way. As one of SATC's best characters, Steve definitely deserved ample screen time in the new season of the sequel, as opposed to the new characters like Seema, Che, or Lisa, who are poorly developed and utterly unconvincing.
'I don't know what the actor is up to but I'd rather see Steve navigate dating as an older guy in New York than watching the new cast. I could watch a whole episode of Steve going on awkward Tinder dates,' a fan noted.
It looks like the writers of And Just Like That… have successfully alienated the core fan base of the original show, and with the abysmal ratings the second season is currently getting, it is quite obvious that HBO will cancel the series in the near future.
And Just Like That… Season 2 Episode 3 will arrive on Max on June 29, 2023.
