American Idol Season 21 Prediction: Fans Pinpoint a Future Top 5 Star
It looks like the possible winner of the current season has already been found.
American Idol has been on the air for so long that each new season of the once-popular show feels more and more uninspired and boring.
The celebrity judges look tired, the challenges feel dated, and the overall structure of the show simply fails to surprise viewers. But there's one thing that makes up for all of these problems and keeps fans tuning in each season of American Idol – the talented singers who appear before the judges seemingly out of nowhere, dazzling viewers with their magical voices and uplifting lyrics.
Of course, not all of the contestants are able to make such an effect on judges and the public, but it looks like season 21 already found one of its biggest stars – Phil Kane, who dazzled the judges during his audition.
The 18-year-old presented his original show, singing a country ballad of dirt roads and small towns, almost bringing tears into the eyes of country legend Luke Bryan.
Fans were touched too, praising Kane for the great emotional impact his song has, noting that the young boy will surely find his way into the top 5 of this season. And even country-haters are agreeing with this!
However, not all American Idol fans agree with such high praise for Kane, arguing that while his song has great emotional power, the lyrics are far from perfect. Many people have treated his song as a caricature of country, because the themes it touches on are too trite to be taken seriously.
The whole small-town atmosphere has been used in millions of country songs before, and that really bothers fans. Kane also has some problems with rhyming his words, often settling for the most obvious.
But that doesn't mean that people don't believe in Kane, because American Idol was created to take young performers and make them stars, polishing their talent until they shine like diamonds. Hopefully, Kane will be able to improve his skills and finish in the top 5 of Season 21, just like the fans expect him to do.
