American Idol Season 21: How Many Episodes Left?
The beloved show has a few more episodes for us to enjoy.
American Idol has been a huge influence on pop culture ever since it premiered in 2002. Today, the reality singing competition is still going strong despite the many hardships there have been in its way, including a change of the hosting channel.
As of 2023, the show has spanned 21 seasons and helped dozens of American singers find success with the audience and come to prominence in the music industry.
Among the competition's many talented alums is Kelly Clarkson, a regular coach on The Voice and hostess of her own talk show, who has recently released two singles from her upcoming album, further cementing her popularity with fans. Another coach of The Voice in both the US and the UK and talk show host, Jennifer Hudson also began her musical career on the hit reality competition show.
Season 21 of American Idol is currently airing, presenting the audience with quite a number of very diverse and talented contestants. But as the season is progressing, fewer and fewer episodes are left, leaving us to wonder exactly how many?
Since ABC took over the show in 2018, every season has had 19 episodes on average. The only two exceptions were Season 18 amid the global pandemic in 2020, featuring 16 episodes in total, and Season 20 that exceeded the average by mere one episode in 2022.
This gives us ground to assume American Idol Season 21 will have the same 20 episodes — and this is actually the exact number of episodes scheduled for release.
As 14 episodes of Season 21 have already aired, with the 13th and 14th being released immediately one after another on April 23 and 24, only six episodes are now left. Episodes 15 and 16 will air on April 30 and May 1, respectively. Meanwhile, the finale of American Idol Season 21 is scheduled to arrive on ABC on May 21, 2023. And we are looking forward to seeing what the iconic show has in store for its fans!
American Idol Season 21 Episode 15 will premiere on ABC on April 30, 2023.
