The two characters must finally sort out all the problems between them.

The Apple TV series about a good-hearted American football coach coaching an English association football team was a worldwide success in 2020, as people fell in love with the well-written and endearing characters featured in the series. Season three is set to be released this month, and fans are already speculating on what to expect from it. Most are sure Nate Shelley will finally settle his differences with Will Kitman.

Nate has been a controversial character since day one, with his constant craving for recognition as an assistant coach often causing the people around him to feel ill at ease.

The second season concluded with Nate forsaking his former colleagues for self-serving motives as he took on the head coach position for Richmond's arch-rival. Fans hated him for this, and it doesn't look like Nate's in for much happiness in the upcoming season, either. In most of the trailers, he is depicted as lonely and sad, seemingly unable to get the support he needs from his new team.

A primary reason for fans' dislike of Nate is his unjust treatment of Will, a character who nearly everyone supports at Richmond except for Nate. Nate always saw Will as his rival, frequently arguing with and taunting him. He even once refused to let Will attend his mother's birthday party. Despite this rift between the two, fans remain confident that Nate and Will will sort all their issues out in the next season.

Ted Lasso's fans love Will to bits, so the idea that Nate will finally treat him with respect is very popular.

However, it should be noted that Nate's redemptive arc, which should conclude in season three, is not as important to fans as Will's storyline. Nate has already done so many nasty things that fans probably won't care about him, even if he tries to fix his attitude. But if Nate apologises to Will, who knows, maybe fans will hate him a little bit less.
