All Creatures Great and Small Season 4: Release Date and First Images Revealed

The story of Skeldale House's veterinary surgeons will resume early next year.
Based on a series of autobiographical novels by James Herriot (the pen-name of Alf Wright), Channel 5's All Creatures Great and Small is one of Britain's most heartwarming, cosy, funny, dramatic series. Set in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales in the mid-20th century, it narrates the tale of the author, his fellow veterinarians, and their practice at Skeldale House.
The previous season concluded with a heartbreaking cliffhanger: Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain declared war on the Third Reich, and the beloved brother, friend, and veterinary colleague, Tristan, volunteered for the war. This development kicked off a challenging period for the people of Darrowby, and fans are eager to learn what happens next to their favourite characters. Fortunately, PBS has announced the release date for the next season and shared some details about it.
Release date
PBS Masterpiece, the division of PBS that delivers British television masterpieces, has finally announced the long-awaited release date for Season 4. Dear fans, prepare yourselves: the new chapter for Skeldale House has been officially scheduled for release! The first episode will be available on 17 January 2024 at 9 pm EST.
New chapter, new characters, new images
As mentioned above, the story left us at the heart-wrenching moment when Tristan Farnon (Callum Woodhouse), James' best friend, departed for war. It was profoundly moving to see his elder brother, Siegfried (Samuel West), typically a stoic and reserved man, weep as he embraced his brother. A major source of conflict and misunderstanding from the first three seasons will be absent in this one. However, if the plot remains faithful to the books, James will maintain correspondence with Tristan, who will eventually return home.
Temporarily replacing Tristan is a new character, his friend from Edinburgh University, Richard Carmody (James Anthony-Rose). Richard is an incredibly diligent and skilled veterinary student; however, his lack of experience will likely become a new source of conflict and comic relief for Siegfried and James.
