All Creatures Great and Small Season 4 Premiere Date for UK & US
UK residents can expect a release soon, but US residents will have to wait a bit longer.
The daily lives of the staff at Skeldale House and their animal patients are returning to our screens! The third series of All Creatures Great and Small, based on the semi-autobiographical series of novels by Alf Wight, ended on a heartbreaking cliffhanger with Tristan departing for war. Since the Christmas episode aired in December 2022, we've been eagerly waiting to hear news of what happens next.
Now, we can start planning our binge-watching list for the remainder of the year. Channel 5, responsible for adapting the ACGAS novels, has announced the release date for the first episode of Season 4! UK residents are luckier than their US counterparts, but more on that later.
Dark Times for the Yorkshire Dales
These are challenging times for the village of Darrowby and the entire Yorkshire Dales. WWII has reached these tranquil, picturesque parts of Northern England. Although the sounds of falling bombs are not heard here, ominous events lurk in the shadows. Tristan has left to fight in the war, leaving James and Siegfried to serve where they are needed — on the home front as veterinarians.
As events unfold in 1940, James and Helen contemplate starting a family, while Siegfried, concerned about his younger brother, strives to keep himself and all of Skeldale House together. No one, of course, can truly replace Tristan, but the painful silence is somewhat alleviated by two new characters — Richard Carmody (James Anthony-Rose), a gifted but inexperienced veterinarian and student at Edinburgh University, and bookkeeper Miss Harbottle (Neve McIntosh).
UK Release Date
Channel 5 has finally announced the release date for one of their most popular dramas. The first episode will air on October 5 on Channel 5 and My5 at 9 pm. The series will have six episodes and air on Thursdays until November 9. Of course, we should also expect a special, but it will not be released until December.
Availability in the US
Interestingly, the US release date was announced even earlier than the UK one. Regrettably, US residents will have to wait longer unless, of course, they use a VPN: PBS has scheduled the Season 4 premiere for Sunday, January 7, at 9 pm ET. As with previous seasons, the series will be available as part of Masterpiece.
