Though American Horror Story is revered as one of the most influential shows of the past decade — Ryan Murphy's creation almost single-handedly revived the horror genre on television — recent seasons have seen the show's quality go downhill, with both fans and critics feeling let down.

Yet, it would appear that Murphy is keen on turning the tide, having cast Emma Roberts, Kim Kardashian, and Cara Delevingne in the forthcoming twelfth season, which is said to draw inspiration from Danielle Valentine's Delicate Condition.

While some fans have expressed reservations about Murphy's shift from original narratives to adapting a book for an AHS season, the recently released teaser trailer suggests this move might offer something exceptional. The promotional teaser reaffirms Murphy's knack for innovation even after the show's decade-long run.

The enigmatic video showcases Roberts, Kardashian, and Delevingne in character, leaving fans in awe of how great they all look. However, what primarily stole the spotlight weren't the actresses but the copious spiders featured prominently throughout.

It would appear that arachnophobes might want to give Season 12 a pass, as these creepy crawlers seem central to the plot, particularly when it comes to Roberts' and Kardashian's characters.

Some fans were swift to speculate in the comments section of the trailer, suggesting that the spiders might symbolise a pivotal theme for this season, potentially providing insight into the events to come.
