Aged to Perfection: AI Shows What Princess Diana Would Look Like Today

Blogger Alper Yesiltas asked himself a similar question. He uses AI as a tool to develop a specific philosophy and visually convey the story behind his idea. Many of his works are dedicated to deceased people whom the artist tries to immortalize by imagining them to be with us, here and now.

Yesiltas has a series of works titled As If Nothing Happened, centered on famous figures of different generations who still inspire us today. Princess Diana is one of the people featured in his project.

Seeing this 'aged Diana,' fans of the princess fell into two camps. Some embraced the idea warmly, as they were glad to see Lady Di 'as if nothing happened' and she was still here with us, while others disliked this rendering of the princess picked by Yesiltas, arguing that Diana would have looked much better at 61.

'Today, with cosmetics and other facial care procedures, 60-year-old women no longer have all these signs of old age,' one of the Instagram users noted.

Princess Diana was considered to be a style icon, appearing with bright nails that broke with royal protocol and securing her name in the history of fashion with that memorable 'revenge dress.' So, naturally, it would be odd if the star suddenly stopped caring about her looks and changed so drastically by her 60s.

Despite this criticism, many fans still appreciated Yesiltas' post. 'I think she looks beautiful in this rendering. Very real. People's perception of aging is so distorted these days,' another user wrote in the comments.
