Fans of courageous firefighters battling wildfires in Northern California's forests need to get ready!

A new episode chronicling the journey of young convict Bode Donovan seeking redemption as a Cal Fire volunteer is on its way, but we'll need to wait a bit longer.

Despite the captivating drama and stellar performances from Max Thieriot and Kevin Alejandro, the series has received mixed reviews due to its inconsistent and sometimes poorly-written script. Criticism even came from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Furthermore, fans are growing increasingly frustrated with the frequent delays in the release of the episodes.

Originally premiering last October as a regular Friday series, the season has experienced delays of two weeks or more.

Consequently, although the show was slated to end in February, it's still got three more episodes to go. To paraphrase an old saying, the anticipation of a really good episode is better than the episode itself!

On 21 March, the official Fire Country Instagram account posted an announcement revealing the upcoming episode's release date:

“We’re back March 31st but so you don’t miss us TOO much — make sure to binge watch all the available episodes of #FireCountry on @paramountplus,” the caption reads, encouraging fans to revisit the series during the wait. With such a lengthy gap between releases, it's possible that viewers have forgotten key moments.

However, not everyone appreciated the suggestion.

@michaelmoushey commented, "I wanna watch new episodes, not what I already seen lol." Indeed, asking viewers to re-watch a show they may have forgotten due to scheduling issues seems somewhat unfair.

The upcoming episode will focus on suspicions surrounding Cal Fire firefighter Jake Crawford (played by Jordan Calloway), who feels remorse over the death of Donovan's sister. The intrigue is whether or not he is responsible for the arsons. The protagonist and crew will investigate independently (uncoordinated) to uncover the truth.

So, mark your calendars for 31 March! Fire Country airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS and will also be released on Paramount+.
