The hit Netflix fantasy series quietly appeared on the streaming service in 2021 and quickly amassed a huge fandom eager to delve deeper into Leigh Bardugo's artfully crafted world.
The series is based on books set in a world reminiscent of Tsarist Russia in the mid-1800s, where certain people, known as Grisha, can use magic. While the Netflix series is a fascinating immersion into this universe, the books are certainly more valuable in terms of the overarching narrative.

1. Shadow and Bone (Shadow and Bone Trilogy Book 1)
