The future of the main series in Taylor Sheridan's franchise about the Dutton family remains a mystery to viewers and perhaps to the cast itself — and fans' patience now seems to be running out.

We've already talked about the situation around Yellowstone regarding Kevin Costner's reported withdrawal from the project. And since the actor allegedly demanded that the second half of season five be shot in just one week, we don't even know what stage of production (or post-production) the show is currently in — and so the future of subsequent seasons (if there will be any) is even murkier.

That's why fans are constantly on edge because of the uncertainty surrounding Yellowstone, and it looks like every little tease is only making people more exhausted.

On March 7, Yellowstone's official promotional channel on Instagram posted a segment featuring Rip Wheeler, played by Cole Hauser. In the clip, John Dutton's right-hand man is not happy that his wife Beth has forced him to go to the bar with her. "I got about a half hour left in me of this s---," Rip says pointedly, expressing his displeasure.

The post is captioned, "Patience wearing thin. #YellowstoneTV" — and oh boy, who knew how much affinity there would be between Rip and tired fans! For them, the line from Cole Hauser's character captures just how they feel about the situation with the show.

While the promoters clearly wanted to remind viewers of the best moments from last season, the post was flooded with comments with a very different and not the warmest message:

"My patience wearing thin waiting for season 5 to come out on peacock or paramount plus," Instagram user isabelcpatterson said, replying to the capture. Almost every other comment under the post is similar to the one quoted.

And it seems that fans are willing to not only agree with the annoyed Rip but to focus on him instead of John Dutton.

The user nicknamed chapman2158 replied sentimentally: "We don't need Keven C. Rip is enough of an actor to carry the show."

It turns out fans are so done waiting that they are ready to say goodbye to Kevin Costner, the main star of the series!

While some publications are making positive predictions about the release of part two of season five, Paramount Network has yet to make an unequivocal statement. And until then, we'll just have to wait patiently with Rip Wheeler.
