With the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes continuing for months now, the fall of 2023 is already shaping up to be a dry season for releases. However, there are still a few shows coming out on Netflix in September, and these nine are not to miss.
9. Disenchantment Season 5 – September 1
Season 5 of Matt Groening's Disenchantment, also known as Part 3, is said to be the final chapter of the animated fantasy sitcom. It will follow the clash between Princess Bean and her mother, evil sorceress Queen Dagmar.
8. Is She the Wolf? – September 3
The Japanese reality show follows ten men and women who try to form couples to win the competition. The trick is that at least one of the female contestants is a 'wolf' who fakes her feelings to win.
7. Predators – September 6
The charming docuseries about the most ferocious wild animals will consist of five episodes focusing on cheetahs, polar bears, lions, pumas, and wild dogs. Even if you are not a fan of wildlife, you might want to check the series to hear Tom Hardy's narration.
6. Infamy – September 6
The Polish musical drama follows a 17-year-old Roma girl torn between her own desire to pursue a hip-hop career and the wishes of her strict family, who want her to get married.
5. Dear Child – September 7
This psychological thriller tells the story of Lena, a woman who was kidnapped 13 years ago. When she manages to escape captivity, the question arises — is she the real Lena?
4. Virgin River Season 5 Part 1 – September 7
One of the most anticipated September releases, Virgin River will continue the story of Mel and Jack as they try to find happiness while a natural disaster erupts in the background.
3. Glow Up Season 5 – September 12
Glow Up will once again see British make-up artists compete to be crowned the best. The judges are Dominic Skinner and Val Garland, and the new host is model Leomie Anderson.
2. Sex Education Season 4 – September 21
The season will follow the main characters as they adjust to a new school. Otis and Maeve will face the challenges of a long-distance relationship while she adapts to living alone in a new country.
1. Castlevania: Nocturne – September 28
The show will focus on a major character in the vampire franchise, Richter Belmont, who appeared in the Castlevania video games Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night, and Nocturne.
