8 Worst Adam Sandler Movies, Ranked From Bad to Absolute Disaster
Behold the King of Terrible Movies!
Adam Sandler is an iconic actor with many successful roles and prestigious awards under his belt, but some of his movies are downright awful.
In case you're a really big fan of the comedian or just in the mood to watch something cringey, we've compiled a list of Adam Sandler's worst movies ever.
8. Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights (2002, rated 13%)
Box office: $23.4 million
The main character is an alcoholic troublemaker sentenced to do community service — his task is to help an eccentric referee in a youth basketball league. Co-written, produced and narrated by Adam Sandler, the film is overflowing with crude and gross humor.
7. The Cobbler (2014, rated 10%)
Box office: $6.5 million
Sandler plays a shoemaker who finds a magical sewing machine that allows him to transform into the people he makes shoes for. While this may be a better role compared to the actor's earlier projects from the 2010s, critics disliked the film's flat and offensive jokes.
6. Grown Ups (2010, rated 10%)
Box office: $271.4 million
After learning about the death of their school basketball coach, five friends reunite and reminisce about their past. Despite its commercial success and an all-star cast of iconic comedians, the film was panned for its terrible script.
5. Grown Ups 2 (2013, rated 8%)
Box office: $247 million
The sequel continues the story of the five friends after one of them moves back to their hometown with his family. Once again, the film was successful at the box office, but the audience and critics disliked its lame humor.
4. Bulletproof (1996, rated 8%)
Box office: $22.6 million
Following the story of a petty thief and an undercover policeman as they try to take down a powerful kingpin, this movie was clearly written as a feel-good buddy cop comedy. Sadly, it turned out to be neither funny nor enjoyable to watch.
3. Jack and Jill (2011, rated 3%)
Box office: $149 million
The film follows an advertising executive who tries to get Al Pacino to star in a commercial by introducing him to his annoying twin sister. Sandler's script once again turned a farcical comedy into an obnoxious farce.
2. The Ridiculous 6 (2015, rated 0%)
Box office: ~ (distributed by Netflix)
Adam Sandler's character, who was raised by a Native American tribe, discovers he has five half-brothers and unites with them to save their bank-robbing father. According to critics and viewers, the movie is a lazily written Western with lots of racist jokes.
1. Going Overboard (1989, not rated)
Box Office: ~
An aspiring cruise ship comedian saves the day by stopping Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega from killing Miss Australia. Only four critics rated the film on Rotten Tomatoes, but there are many unflattering reviews from casual viewers. It looks like Sandler's first film was also the worst of his career.
