7 Horror K-Dramas to Watch While Waiting for Squid Game Season 2

October is almost here, and with it our craving for spine-tingling and bloodthirsty content grows. Unfortunately, there is only one Squid Game, and its second season is not coming to Netflix anytime soon. So we have to look elsewhere.

South Korean television has plenty to offer in the gory genre. Here are seven suggestions for your horror marathon. Who knows, you might find your next Halloween costume in one of them.

Hell Is Other People (2019)

A young man moves to the big city for a better job and is forced to live in a creepy dorm, which is the only place he can afford. However, he soon discovers that the place is no ordinary dormitory, and its mysterious occurrences and abnormal residents become increasingly difficult to tolerate.

Hellbound (2021-present)

In modern South Korea, a terrifying supernatural phenomenon starts to happen: an otherworldly face appears out of nowhere and announces that someone is bound for hell. Afterwards, sinister monsters burn the person's body. While some characters try to investigate the phenomenon, society deals with it by forming two feuding organizations, a cult and a gang.

All of Us Are Dead (2022)

An experiment gone wrong causes a high school to be overrun with zombies that quickly spread throughout the city. While authorities try to contain the outbreak, a group of trapped teenagers do their best to survive inside the school building.

Sweet Home (2020)

A high school student loses his family and moves into an apartment complex to live a secluded life. But soon an apocalypse breaks out and dreadful monsters start appearing everywhere, killing and infecting people. The residents of the complex shield themselves inside, hoping to survive this horror.

The Guest (2018)

The supernatural thriller deals with themes of exorcism and shamanism, and tells the story of a psychic who tries to hunt down and destroy a powerful demon that possesses people and makes them kill their families.

The King of Pigs (2022)

The series of murders brings back the childhood trauma of school bullying and makes the bullied students-turned-adults reunite and remember their horrific experiences. The story is quite heavy psychologically and contains numerous scenes of violence.

Happiness (2021)

In the near future, a drug causes a worldwide pandemic that makes people extremely aggressive and bloodthirsty at times, before completely reverting to a zombie-like state. The show follows the residents of a high-rise building as they struggle to survive when the pandemic breaks out.
