7 Best Virgin River Episodes, Ranked (And No, Season 5 Is Not on the List)
Virgin River has no shortage of brilliant episodes. But which are the best? Here are the top 7, so far, ranked.
Virgin River is one of those shows that draws you in and makes you keep watching. The characters are just so relatable, that you can’t help but find yourself hooked on the adventures and dramas of each episode.
But some episodes stand out above the others, and here is our list of the 7 best.
7. A Wedding, No Funeral, And a Baby - Season 3, Episode 10
This one deserves a place on this list if only for the sheer number of massive things that happen. Jack finally asks Mel to marry him only to learn she is pregnant, and her dead husband might be the father via formerly frozen embryos. Hope is in a coma, and we are confronted with Brie’s past.
6. Hazards Ahead – Season 2, Episode 9
Nothing spices up a good drama like a sordid affair, and there are plenty of these happening in Virgin River. This episode sees shocking secrets come out, and Mel finds herself dealing with more drama than any other character in this one.
5. Into the Light – Season 1, Episode 8
Power outages and townspeople all being forced into one location together makes for a great episode. In this case, Jack’s Bar is the place. But it isn’t all doom and gloom. The episode ends with Mel and Jack sharing a romantic kiss in his adorable farmhouse.
4. The Long Goodbye - Season 4, Episode 12
This one is a perfect blend of joy and sadness. Jack and Mel are engaged, and he has been confirmed as the father of her unborn baby. Brady is finally proven innocent and freed, so Brie is happy. But many characters leave us in this episode, which stings.
3. Blown Away - Season 2, Episode 10
Secrets are spilled and confrontations ensue in this one. Jealousy, rage, and even Jack gets shot by a mystery assailant. But there is also some happiness when Hope and Doc are able to forgive and agree to re-marry each other.
2. Life and Death – Season 3, Episode 8
This episode is a complete misery-fest, but so brilliantly done. Jack and Mel break up, Brady is in a world of trouble, and Ricky applies for the army without Lizzie having any idea. Lies are believed, and truths are thought to be false!
1. Taken by Surprise – Season 2, Episode 2
We would be remiss if we didn’t include the episode where Jack and Mel sleep together for the first time. This is such a crucial turning point in their relationship, and we loved being with them every step of the way.
