7 Actors That Should Play Harry Potter In the HBO's TV Reboot
For some of these actors, it would be the first big role to propel them in the industry.
In April this year, HBO announced that a Harry Potter TV reboot is now in the works, sending the huge fandom of J. K. Rowling's magical saga into a complete frenzy.
Of course, millions of fans are now discussing one question — who will be cast as the new show's main star, Harry Potter himself?
It looks like there are lots of talented young performers who could play the iconic role in the HBO reboot — here are just seven of them.
Roman Griffin Davis
The actor behind the main character of Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit (2019) is also known for his role in the 2021 black comedy Silent Night. Roman is 16 years old now, and he would definitely make a convincing Harry Potter on the small screen.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth
This 14-year-old British actor boasts quite an acting portfolio. He worked on two Disney Plus movies, Flora & Ulysses (2021) and Pinocchio (2022), and had starring roles on several shows, including Netflix's The Haunting of Bly Manor and Sandman. Fans believe that Benjamin has all the talent to portray Harry Potter.
Woody Norman
At 14, this actor has already worked on a number of successful projects alongside big-name actors like Joaquin Phoenix. The charismatic young star of The White Princess, Troy: Fall of a City, and Poldark, Woody would be an obvious choice of HBO's producers.
Archie Yates
Another young star of Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit, this 14-year-old has participated in various Disney projects, but most of his work was voiceovers for cartoons. In addition to his acting talent, fans note that Archie bears some resemblance to Daniel Radcliffe, which arguably makes him a valid candidate for the role of Harry Potter.
Will Tilston
Little Christopher Robin from the 2017 biopic, this British actor is best known for his portrayal of Gregory Bridgerton on the Netflix hit period drama. At 16, Will is a brilliant actor who could make another great Harry Potter.
Jordan A. Nash
The 16-year-old star of 2020's Come Away, starring Angelina Jolie and David Oyelowo among others, also worked on Disney's 2019 Aladdin and the hit British sitcom Breeders. Jordan would provide a fresher, more modern take on Harry Potter, diversifying the cast of the impending HBO show.
George Wakeman
This 13-year-old actor is the youngest on the list. In addition to the aforementioned Breeders, where George was one of the main stars, the actor has taken part in several other projects, including the documentary The Secret Life of 4, 5 and 6 Year Olds (2015) and Jerk (2021). He is charming and sprightly — just like Harry Potter should be.
