We got to enjoy these moments twice.

Much of Heartstopper's charm (and fandom) comes from its source material, the webcomic and graphic novels by Alice Oseman. That is why it's so great that the show includes nods to the comics while adapting the romantic story of Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring to the small screen.

Fortunately, there's no shortage of them. In fact, Season 2 has a few scenes that repeat the graphic novels frame-by-frame, much to the delight of Oseman's comic book fans.

Good Job

While in Paris, Nick and Charlie have not yet come out to many people, so they hide in their room to enjoy a make-out session. This leads to one of the funniest one-liners of the season. When Tara and Darcy burst through the door and see the boys, Darcy delivers the legendary line from the novel:

'Oh. You're being gay. Good job. Carry on.'

Hand-Holding

Although Nick and Charlie share a room in Paris, they are forced to sleep separately. In a beautiful scene that has stopped the hearts of many viewers, the boys fall asleep holding hands over the space that separates their beds. Could they be any cuter?

Love Bite

Remember that hilarious scene where Nick gives Charlie a hickey and they both freak out that everyone will notice? Well, it was taken word-by-word from Oseman's novel. And let's face it, we couldn't be happier about it.

Romantic Kiss

Charlie and Nick aside (not for long, don't worry), there's another dazzling couple we've been rooting for since Season 1. Tao and Elle certainly stole the spotlight this season when they shared the most romantic kiss on planet Earth during the school trip to Paris. This Louvre scene taken from the comics will keep us warm for a long time.

Mon Amour

Nick is full of surprises, which he proves by speaking fluent French. Charlie's reaction is adorable: the boy can't hide the fact that French coming out of Nick's mouth is extremely attractive to him. And Nick doesn't disappoint, grabbing Charlie's arm and calling him 'mon amour' (my love). These two are 'les meilleurs' (the best)!

I'm Bi, Actually

The huge momentum of Season 2 is dedicated to Nick's coming-out journey, which deserves the praise of fans. You can see him gaining confidence as he gradually tells people about his sexuality. It culminates with the blunt 'I'm bi, actually, and so what?' that Nick says to his brother.

This scene, and the look on Nick's face, made many of those reading and watching Heartstopper proud.
