These five don't have a logical explanation.

While Suits is largely associated with Meghan Markle these days, it was a big show in its own right at the time of its debut in 2011. The USA Network legal drama, which follows a group of lawyers from a fictional New York-based firm, ran for nine seasons and inspired a short-lived spin-off, Pearson, securing a permanent place in fans' hearts.

However, the show's premise – its main character was hired by the prestigious legal firm in question despite having no formal education in law – was somewhat nonsensical. That made Suits intriguing to watch, but some plotlines defied any and all logic.

Here are the five most ridiculous storylines and plot devices from Suits that we still cannot comprehend.

5. The Firm Hiring Only Massachusetts Alums

The firm's management had a peculiar practice of hiring only Massachusetts graduates, even though New York is home to several top law schools, including Cornell and Columbia. Moreover, the highly-ranked Yale University is located in neighbouring Connecticut.

4. Louis And Nigel's Cat

Louis was undoubtedly the most eccentric and peculiar member of the legal team. However, there is still no excuse for the abduction of his partner/rival's cat to gain an advantage in exchanging threats and taunts. We hope that Mikado was returned to the owner safe and sound.

3. Lobby Arguments

Lawyers certainly need to discuss work matters, but it is exceedingly strange that the characters in Suits choose to do so in the lobby or, indeed, the restroom. After all, this profession requires a certain level of confidentiality that the show's writers don't seem to appreciate.

2. Louis And The Architect

While it was endearing to see Louis have a romance with the architect hired to renovate the firm (though slightly unprofessional), the subsequent events were downright bizarre. The woman was in a relationship and pregnant with another man's child, yet Louis proposed to her after only a brief relationship. Fortunately, she disappeared as abruptly as she had appeared.

1. The Firm's Rebranding

In the legal business, reputation is key, and it is tied to a specific name. Therefore, when a legal firm changes its name, it inevitably loses some of its prestige and clientele. Given this, it is more than odd that the management of the firm in Suits used rebranding as a promotional tool.

Ultimately, Suits was an enjoyable show to watch, and none of these issues can detract from our affection for the series that we would love to go on.
