From comic relief characters to multi-layered dramatic anti-heroes, Dylan O'Brien's range knows no bounds.

Dylan O'Brien may not be the biggest name in Hollywood, but you can't go wrong by casting him, regardless of what the role might be.

When Dylan starred in the supernatural drama Teen Wolf, people instantly fell in love with his talent. But we're not talking about Teen Wolfe today. Instead, we want to look at the other roles that have since demonstrated Dylan's impressive range and versatility as an actor.

Rotten Tomatoes score: 54%

Dylan perfectly portrayed a character on the verge of a mental breakdown and took the audience on a tour of the depths of the human subconscious. Fred Fitzell, the character Dylan plays, is tormented by horrific visions of a missing girl from his high school years. So he decides to relive his past by taking a mysterious drug with his friends. This hallucinogenic thriller proved that the actor is not only good for young adult roles but also has what it takes to play intense, complex characters.

4. Not Okay (2022)

Rotten Tomatoes score: 73%

Although O'Brien's role in this satirical comedy-drama starring Zoey Deutch is relatively small and does not have the same depth as in the previous movie, the actor once again proved that he is capable of playing all kinds of roles.

This time he plays Colin, a goofy influencer Deutch's character has a crush on, who becomes the reason for her lying about being a victim of the terrorist attack in Paris.

3. Deepwater Horizon (2016)

Rotten Tomatoes score: 82%

In this movie about the tragic events in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, Dylan plays Caleb Holloway, a member of the drilling team who, together with Wahlberg Wahlberg's character, manages to save his colleagues and himself. The role is incredibly dramatic, very realistically depicting the emotions of an ordinary man thrust into the midst of a terrible disaster.

2. The Outfit (2022)

Rotten Tomatoes score: 85%

O'Brien plays Richie, the son of a mob boss, an unpleasant young man with an exaggerated sense of self-worth and terrible arrogance. And as we know, the more unpleasant the character, the better an actor can show off their skills, which is exactly the case with Dylan in this movie.

1. Love and Monsters (2020)

Rotten Tomatoes score: 94%

Stiles Stilinski evolves from a goofball into an incredibly deep and mature character, and Dylan's role in Love and Monsters is much the same, only requiring even better acting. In this light-hearted action movie, Dylan plays an equally hapless guy who becomes the wise and determined hero of the day as part of his journey through a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
