What does the upcoming season have in store for us?

The third season of one of Netflix's most popular coming-of-age romantic dramas, Heartstopper, has been announced alongside the second season, proving that the Alice Oseman-created franchise is in favor even with the predictably unpredictable streaming service, which continues to cancel popular IPs.

As of now, Season 3 is still in pre-production. For fans, the good news is that its filming is unlikely to be affected by American WGA and SAG strikes because Heartstopper is a UK production subject to British unions.

So while we wait for a new chapter in the lives of Charlie and Nick, let's speculate about possible future storylines (though it all depends on Oseman, of course).

5. Redeeming Harry

Harry Greene is one of the most cartoonish and obnoxious characters — a rich, homophobic boy who clings to popularity at school.

Heartstopper Fans Already Have the Perfect Ending in MindAlthough Harry matures emotionally and becomes more supportive, Oseman themself has said that being an 'ally' only helps him maintain his status and popularity. So in Season 3, it would be interesting to see Harry really regret his actions… Not that he's truly redeemable.

4. The Teachers

Nathan Ajayi and Youssef Farouk are the literal adult counterparts to Nick and Charlie, and their relationship is undoubtedly one of the most colorful aspects of the series. Giving them more time in Season 3 would delight viewers, who want to see the teachers get into hilarious situations trying to hide their relationship from students.

3. Imogen & Sahar being just friends

Imogen's developing feelings for Sahar is undoubtedly a great way to reveal the former's bisexuality. However, some fans believe the show's creators might want to explore other kinds of relationships in Season 3, so perhaps it's a good idea to give Imogen some time to focus on herself, sort out her feelings, and continue to be friends with Sahar and the rest of the gang.

2. Tao gets friends outside the gang

Because of his loneliness, Tao continues to feel insecure. It was great to see him eventually accept Elle's decision to transfer to Lambert and maintain a romantic relationship with her. So now, Tao deserves a bit of extra character development, learning how to socialize with others as he prepares for adulthood.

1. Isaac embraces his identity

While Oseman has confirmed that Isaac is aro-ace (as you remember, he learned the terms 'aromantic' and 'asexual' in Season 2), he still has not fully processed and embraced his sexuality. So we're really excited to see how he'll grow personally and learn to accept his identity in a future season.
