Fans are actually glad some of these storylines were abandoned.

One of The CW's most bizarre series, Riverdale has been a fan favorite since 2017, thanks to its powerful mysticism, complex characters, and unexpected twists. However, the show is also infamous for the incredible number of storylines that the writers just failed to complete, whether because they didn't know how to develop them further or simply forgot about them.

Here are five storylines from Riverdale that were never properly concluded.

5. That fetish porn

Remember that weird and completely unnecessary Kevin Keller arc in the Season 4 episode 'Quiz Show'? Trying to overcome his financial difficulties, Kevin agrees to participate in fetish porn in which he tickles other men or gets tickled by them, and he even gets Reggie involved in the venture.

Given that the characters were minors at the time, this plotline was completely inappropriate, but it also simply made no sense! This is one case in which fans are actually glad the writers never developed the storyline further.

4. Dagwood's aura

In the Season 6 episode 'Things That Go Bump in the Night,' Betty takes care of Polly and Jason's kids, Juniper and Dagwood, and notices a strange aura around the boy. Dr. Curdle Jr. examines the twins and discovers that Juniper has the serial killer gene, but Dagwood actually doesn't.

What were fans supposed to make out of this revelation? It remains a mystery because the issue with Dagwood's aura was never addressed in the following episodes.

3. Jonathan's fate

Jonathan was one of the most talented preppies in Stonewall, but his story hit a dead end. In 'The Locked Room' of Season 4, Donna explains Jonathan's absence by saying he got food poisoning but also tells Brett that he is dead. Why didn't the writers reveal what actually happened to the character, instead giving us these conflicting ideas? Fans are dying to know.

2. Hermosa's story

Hermosa Lodge, Hiram's eldest daughter, wasn't an original character in the Archie comics, and according to fans, she proved to be a completely useless addition to the series, inflating the overly dramatic Lodge family storyline. Hermosa was not given an elaborate backstory or a logical ending to her arc, as she was only mentioned in Season 6.

1. Fred, Tom, and FP not taking down Hiram

At the beginning of Season 3, it was suggested that the three 'Hot Dads of Riverdale,' Fred Andrews, Tom Keller, and FP Jones, were plotting to overthrow Hiram, but sadly, that story ended just where it started. Apparently, the Riverdale writers simply forgot to pick up one of their most intriguing plotlines.

We can still hope that the upcoming episodes of Season 7 will resolve some of these storylines. Episode 14 will be released on July 5, 2023.
