5 Reasons You Have to Watch Silo Even If You Know the Ending Already
If you haven’t watched Silo, you may be the one living underground.
Apple TV+ premiered the sci-fi dystopian drama in May this year, and Silo quickly became a fan favorite for its cast, enthralling plot, and a final twist ending. However, for many, the ending wasn’t all surprising, and this tends to happen when TV series are based on books, which Silo is. (Or when people Google the ending and spoil it for themselves).
Nonetheless, Silo is currently a must-watch, even if you know how the final scene goes, and here’s why:
The journey
A common, but very true cliche: Silo is about the journey.
While many people already know how Silo’s first season ends, the plot is worth watching, and very obviously is leading to answering the big question: what is the outside actually like?
The story involves ancient artifacts, hidden doors, powerful secrets, surprise twists, and massive character development. It takes true talent to tell such a complex story in an underground bunker society, but Silo does just that.
Only 9 episodes
If you're worried that it's gonna take time to get to the outcome, then fear not. The producers kept it short and sweet, with season 1 having only 9 episodes, making it almost too easy to binge.
Each episode is captivating and around 50 minutes long. Enough time to carefully deliver twists and clues, and brief enough not to drag on.
Captivating performances
The actors involved in Silo make it all the more worth watching. If you appreciate a good performance, then you'll love the subversive viewing experience of Silo thanks to the cast.
The list includes big names like Tim Robbins, Rebecca Ferguson, and Avi Nash.
Strong female lead
The sublime Silo cast is led by protagonist, and female bad-ass Rebecca Ferguson, who went from manning the generator down in Mechanical to taking over the role of Sheriff, determined to find the truth.
Her temperamental, closed-off character is truly captivating, and her fierceness is admirable, an absolute pleasure to watch, and a reason on its own to watch the show.
Season 2 is on the way
It’s never a good idea to start a series in season 2, and Silo follows this rule. Filming for season 2 has begun, and whilst audiences may know how season 1 ended, not watching the season would be detrimental to understanding season 2.
Some relationships have been explored, the inner workings of the Silo explained, and events that all took place in season 1. If you’re planning to watch season 2, then prepare to watch season 1, they should be considered a package deal.
The big question about the Outside may have been answered, and many know the answer already, but our question for you is: You may know how it ends, but do you understand how it gets there?
Silo is available to watch on Apple TV+ now.
