5 Outlander Scenes Where Nudity, Let's Be Honest, Wasn't Needed At All

While Starz's Outlander is best known for its intricately written time-traveling story, fans never watched the show for its historical storyline alone, as the steamy sex scenes between Claire and Jaime were always the biggest draw for many people. But even though the erotic scenes between the two leads are always heartfelt, we think that sometimes the actors should've stayed in their clothes!

Here are five Outlander scenes where nudity wasn't necessary.

Marriage scene (S1E7)

The first-ever sex scene between Claire and Jaime came after they got married. Some fans feel that the producers should not have forced the characters to strip naked for it in order to keep the suspense alive a bit longer: seeing it all so soon ruined the immersion for viewers, and the scene delivered less emotion than it could have.

Sex with a knife (S1E9)

While this scene is one of the steamiest in the first season, some fans were disappointed that Claire decided to strip naked for Jamie right after he spanked her as punishment for disobeying him. Of course, Jamie apologized for his rigid ways and even gave her a knife to hold to his throat, but Claire's willingness to forgive him so quickly made people question her self-esteem.

Finally reunited (S3E6)

After five long episodes of not seeing each other, Claire and Jamie were finally reunited when she returned to the past after living more than two decades in her normal timeline. Naturally, the lovers decided to celebrate their reunion with sex, but fans felt that the tender nature of the scene was somewhat ruined by the fact that they were both a little too naked.

Jamie's Birthday (S5E7)

Even though some viewers thought Jamie might not be as interested in Claire after turning 50, the Scottish stud proved the naysayers wrong by having one of the most passionate love scenes in Outlander Season 5. The only thing that bothered fans is that he and his wife were completely naked, making the scene look a little more vulgar than it needed to be.

Jamie's return from Cherokee (S6E2)

Unlike Claire, viewers were well aware that Jamie's desire to have sex with her immediately after his return from Cherokee was not caused by her beauty. In fact, just a few hours before that, Jamie was approached by two Cherokee girls trying to seduce him, and even though he refused their advances, fans felt bad for his wife and wouldn't want to see Jamie naked at that point.
