5 Most Captivating Fantasy Series to Binge After The Wheel of Time Season 3 Ends

Dragons, elves, witches, princesses, demons and time travel await you.
It seems that the time of fantasy has come to an end – sci-fi threatens to become the dominant genre in the industry. However, one of the most popular shows of the year is the third season of The Wheel of Time. And it became clear that fantasy is here to stay.
Here are five excellent fantasy series to watch after the new chapter of The Wheel of Time ends.
1. Legend of the Seeker, 2008-2010
A simple villager, Richard Cypher, learns that he is the Seeker of Truth, a chosen warrior destined to rid the Midlands of the despotic and cruel Darken Rahl. He is aided in this difficult task by Mother Confessor Kahlan Amnell and the wizard Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander.
The series is based on the works of Terry Goodkind from the Sword of Truth series. However, the original plot has undergone significant changes, and only the most important characters from the books have migrated to the series.
2. Once Upon a Time, 2011-2018
For a while, Emma Swan thought she was just an ordinary woman. But one day, a boy named Henry appears in her life and declares that he is her son.
Together, they travel to the town of Storybrooke, whose inhabitants are not ordinary people, but fairy tale characters enchanted by the Evil Queen. Emma, as it turns out, is the Chosen One and can save everyone.
The original concept of the series is that all the characters were once fairy tale characters, but were transported to a world without magic and do not remember anything about themselves. Therefore, the plot unfolds simultaneously in the past and present, and the characters are forced to remember who they really are.
3. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, 2015
The story takes place in an alternate 19th century. Two wizards – the cunning Gilbert Norrell and the daring Jonathan Strange – set out to revive lost English magic. Along the way, they must contend with unpredictable and vengeful otherworldly forces.
A short – only seven hour episodes – adaptation of the novel by Susanna Clarke will appeal to everyone who loves English humor, witty dialogues and charismatic actors.
4. Merlin, 2008-2012
The creators of Merlin decided to take a different look at the legends of Arthur. In the series, the famous wizard is not a wise old man, but a very young man.
According to the plot, the king of Camelot, Uther Pendragon, forbade the use of magic on pain of death. Young Merlin was born a wizard and must hide his abilities. One day, the young magician meets the Great Dragon and learns the secret of his destiny – to help Prince Arthur.
5. The 10th Kingdom, 2000
The main characters, a young waitress from New York, Virginia, and her father, Anthony, find themselves in a magical world populated by fairy tale characters. There they will have many adventures, help the enchanted Prince Wendell regain his throne, and learn about their past.
Long before the Once Upon a Time series began its ironic take on the classic tales of the Brothers Grimm, a small nostalgic TV project, The 10th Kingdom, was successfully doing the same.
