5 Guilty Pleasure Shows That Went On For Too Long And Need to End
What reality shows have you grown out of?
Unfortunately, even the best experiences end or become stale. We just can't enjoy the same thing over and over again without it losing its appeal. That's exactly what happened to some of the most popular international reality shows, which seem to survive only as cash cows for their networks.
Here are five such franchises that viewers say need to be canceled.
Survivor
After over 20 years on the air, the show that puts several strangers in an isolated location to see them provide means for survival and participate in various challenges simply can't offer anything new.
While Survivor's early seasons were exciting and organic, later participants figured out the best formula for success and started forming alliances and behaving the right way from day one. And even though the producers try to introduce new concepts into the game, everything still has the same old look and feel.

Love Island
Love Island has been running since 2015 and has more than 20 versions worldwide. It's a typical dating reality show with contestants living in isolation in a villa under constant video surveillance. The participants have to pair up if they want to win a big cash prize.
Although Love Island has a large audience, there have been calls to cancel it for quite some time. Aside from some behind-the-scenes scandals and the wrong message the show sends about romantic relationships, Love Island just stopped being interesting. Seriously, how many times can you watch the same plotting and dating scenarios over and over again?
The Apprentice
The premise of The Apprentice, which first aired in 2004 and was originally hosted by Donald Trump, is to gather people from around the country and make them compete for the right to become an apprentice to a successful businessman. However, that original idea has long since been transformed into a reality show-friendly one.
Now the contestants are chosen not for their talent, but for their reality-worthy personalities, which often makes them just plain annoying.
Bake Off
A group of amateur bakers compete in a series of tests for a prize and a chance to impress star judges with their skills. What could possibly go wrong? Viewers who have watched Bake Off since it began in 2010 say it's no longer about baking and for amateurs.
As in many similar projects, the 'show' element has become more important than 'reality' in Bake Off. This has affected everything from the selection of contestants to the inhumane conditions on the set.
Big Brother
Believe it or not, the Big Brother franchise is still going strong in many countries. At first, the concept of complete strangers living together and being voted out one by one was exciting. But at this point, the schemes that the cast can use to get to the finale have all been seen dozens of times.
Just like on Survivor, the participants come prepared and start forming alliances and schemes early in the game, which feels repetitive and boring.
