5 Episodes Big Bang Theory Fans Hate So Much, They Can't Watch Them
We love TBBT, but those episodes were just too much.
The Big Bang Theory will never lose its status as a cult sitcom, but there's no denial that the series had its ups and downs during the 12-season run. Of course, as the writers experimented with new storylines and plot twists, they could not always satisfy viewers' high expectations for the show.
That is why some of the episodes turned out so bad, many in the fandom refuse to watch them today.
5. The Wheaton Recurrence (Season 3, Episode 19)
According to fans, 'The Wheaton Recurrence' is plain silly and uninteresting because the central conflict between Leonard and Penny was written so poorly.
'They both acted like idiots in that episode by majorly overreacting to what is, yes, a big thing, but doesn't have to turn into a fight that ends in a breakup,' a Redditor complained.
Leonard is terribly pathetic in the episode, coaxing the words 'I love you' out of Penny. In her turn, Penny also acts strangely, taking Wil Wheaton's advice to break up with Leonard for no good reason.
4. The Irish Pub Formulation (Season 4, Episode 6)
Raj's sister Priya proved to be an obnoxious character for many. She had no chemistry with Leonard when the two dated, and what's worse, this romance strained Leonard's friendship with Raj. Fans are still enraged by how abusive Priya was, controlling Leonard's every step.
3. The Boyfriend Complexity (Season 4, Episode 9)
'I think Leonard was really creepy in that episode,' another fan said.
Yes, 'The Boyfriend Complexity' is arguably the most cringeworthy TBBT episode, all because of Leonard's weird behavior. He forces Penny to kiss him in front of her father and obviously enjoys the manipulative act; and then he makes her say 'I love you,' although the two have already broken up.
2. The Roommate Transmogrification (Season 4, Episode 24)
There may have been a certain romantic dynamic between Penny and Raj, but reducing their friendship to casual sex was a huge mistake on the writers' part. The plot twist was an obvious betrayal of Penny's feelings for Leonard, and it was also completely unnecessary and unfunny.
1. The Matrimonial Momentum (Season 9, Episode 1)
While the episode's idea that we're never ready to get married is intriguing and true to some extent, fans were upset to see Leonard and Penny fight right after the wedding. Also, people hated Sheldon's obnoxious behavior, his misogynistic insults directed at Amy, and the way he tried to distract his friends throughout the ceremony.
