5 Crime Mini-Series to Watch While Waiting for Another Only Murders in the Building Episode

The first episode of the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building has been released on Hulu. Episodes will be released every week, and we understand that the wait can be excruciating.
We have chosen five short crime series to help pass the time.
1. The Chestnut Man, 2021
This series is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Soren Sveistrup, and the action is set in Denmark, giving the series a Scandinavian flavor and leisurely narration.
The plot revolves around a series of mysterious, brutal and bloody murders. The victims are women, and the only evidence left at the crime scene is a small figurine made of chestnuts. Experts discover that the figurine's fingerprints belong to the daughter of a local politician who disappeared without a trace a year ago.
2. Under the Bridge, 2024
The show is based on real events of the 90s, described in the novel of the same name by Rebecca Godfrey – she became one of the main characters of the plot.
Becca returns to her hometown in Canada in the midst of a local tragedy – a teenage girl has disappeared. The investigation is led by her childhood friend and police officer Cam, who immediately understands that the reason for the disappearance is not an impulsive escape from her parents.
3. The Valhalla Murders, 2019-2020
The Valhalla Murders is the first Icelandic series on Netflix. The plot is based on a real case from the 1940s. A detective returns to Iceland after years of working in Norway to help investigate the country's first serial killer case.
During the investigation it turns out that the madman is connected to a monstrous crime that took place 35 years ago in an orphanage for boys called Valhalla.
4. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, 2024
Pippa chooses an unexpected mission for her final project at school – to solve the murder of a high school girl that happened several years ago.
The deceased's boyfriend was found guilty, but there are inconsistencies in his actions and motivations. While adults do not take the girl's detective ambitions very seriously, she keeps everyone around her under suspicion.
5. The Stranger, 2020
At first glance, the Price family seems perfect – a happy home filled with love and understanding. But one day, a strange woman sits down next to Adam Price and tells him that many years ago his wife lied to him about her pregnancy and miscarriage and that he should take a DNA test to prove his paternity.
When Adam tries to talk to his wife, she suggests that they discuss the matter in the evening and disappears without a trace. Meanwhile, a headless alpaca is found in town, and a classmate of one of Adam's sons is found naked and unconscious on the shore of a lake.
