These include one that is definitely missing from Season 3.

With many changes and omissions in the Netflix adaptation of Julia Quinn's romance novel series, there are a few key scenes from the book that never made it to the screen.

And that's a shame.

Edmund Bridgerton's Death

The series depicted in great detail how devastated Anthony Bridgerton was by his father's death, which he had to watch helplessly. And it was really important to his character arc. But the show acts as if Anthony is the only person who lost his father and does not include scenes where the other siblings show how they feel about it.

In fact, in the books, young Eloise is the one who is with Edmund when a bee sting kills him, and that trauma is very important to their future development and love story. With this scene omitted, the show will have to come up with some alternative motivations for the character.

Anthony and Kate's Wedding

Although the second chapter is all about Kate and Anthony's love story, we never see them actually tie the knot. By skipping the wedding ceremony, the show missed an important moment of the fan-favorite couple starting their life together. It could also have been a great opportunity to show a beautiful fusion of cultures.

Kate's Nightmare

Season 2 focused a lot on Anthony's past traumas but left out a lot of Kate's backstory. In the books, Kate's mother died on her third birthday during a terrible thunderstorm that the girls forgot about. But it stuck in her childhood mind and developed into a huge phobia of thunderstorms.

Finally, after her marriage, Kate has a terrible nightmare about her mother's death, and Anthony helps her understand it and get rid of her phobia. If it was included in the show, this scene could have helped us understand Kate better and provided some insight into Kate and Anthony's married life.

Edwina's Love Interest

The show made the love triangle between Anthony, Kate, and her sister Edwina much bigger and more dramatic than in the novel. As a result, Edwina got tainted as a character and was deprived of a happy ending.

In the books, there is a scene where Edwina tells her sister about her new crush, the scholar Mr. Bagwell, whom she later marries. If it was included in the show, it could have helped wrap up the younger Sharma's arc nicely.

Colin's Conversation with Daphne

Colin's story hasn't premiered yet, but we already know that an important scene from his novel has been omitted from Season 3. Before marrying Penelope, Colin doubts his feelings and talks to his sister, Daphne, about it. This sweet moment helps him clear his head.

Unfortunately, this family bonding moment was made impossible with Daphne leaving the show after Season 1.
