5 Biggest Takeaways From Young Sheldon S6 Episode 18: What's Next for Coopers?
Treat yourself to some exciting conclusions!
Although we already knew a little about the Coopers' family history from The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon has explored their lives further, providing more details and expanding the narrative — sometimes at the canon's expense. As Season 6 of the spin-off is almost done, fans are wondering what else will be exposed in the remaining four episodes.
Here are five main things from the most recent episode, 'Little Green Men and a Fella's Marriage Proposal,' and their implications for the plot.
Mandy may actually be Georgie's first wife.
The sixth season's Episode 17 ended with a cliffhanger when Georgie asked Mandy if she would marry him. The suspense grew as there was a two-week hiatus between the episodes. But fortunately, Episode 18 took up right where the previous one had left off, with Mandy refusing the offer. However, viewers did notice hesitation and regret on Mandy's face as the two characters were getting over the incident, so there is hope it wasn't her final say.
Missy bonds with Brenda.
Being as emotionally mature as she is, Missy was the first to notice there was something between her father and Brenda Sparks. However upset she was at first, Sheldon's twin sister found a way to let Brenda into her life and bonded with her over Billy, which sets our next takeaway.
Billy may be Missy's unnamed first husband.
The two characters have been growing closer throughout the entire Season 6 of Young Sheldon and shared an especially emotional moment when their parents forgot about them when Constance was born.
As a popular fan theory suggests, Missy and Billy may become friends, which would eventually lead to them getting married.
Sheldon broadens his social horizons.
Rejected by his permanent collaborators, Dr. Sturgis and Dr. Linkletter, after voicing his intentions to seek life on other planets, the socially-inert Sheldon found a new teacher to work with — Dr. Prakash. This may help the protagonist overcome his fear of the unknown and prepare him for his trip to Germany.
George Sr. didn't cheat.
Despite being completely untrue to the TBBT canon, Sheldon's father did not cheat on Mary during the spring break that was effectively over in Episode 18. Neither did the boy walk in on him having sex with another woman. But perhaps, the writers decided to save the dramatic moment for Season 7.
These are the key takeaways from Episode 18. The next one will arrive on CBS on May 4, 2023.
