1. Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, 2020-2021
This is a mix of a romantic comedy and a musical, where the characters sing popular songs that fit the plot twists. The musical numbers make the episodes either really funny or incredibly touching.
Zoey works as a developer at a trendy IT company that creates mobile apps and software, rents an apartment across the hall from a neighbor who keeps her awake, and spends evenings with her family.
One day, after an unexpected short circuit in the MRI machine, Zoey begins to hear people's thoughts in the form of songs. Now the life of a woman who does not like music is filled with fantastic musical numbers.
2. Four Weddings and a Funeral, 2019
The serial remake of the cult movie of the 90s with Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell does not copy the original, but only pays tribute to it. The viewers will see several weddings and a funeral, but it is difficult to guess from the first episode who will become the main characters of these events.
The action takes place in two countries – the US and England, where four friends live who became close during their college years. Three of them live in London, but Maya moved to the US to work in politics. After a failed affair with a married congressman, she returns to England to spend time with her best friend.
At the airport, she meets a man with whom she falls in love at first sight and feels that the feeling is mutual. By an unfortunate coincidence, he is the fiancé of her friend.
3. Catastrophe, 2015-2019
A comedy about the relationship between an Irish woman and an American whose lives are thrown into chaos after they meet in London. Lust, an instant pregnancy and ultimately this disaster becomes fuel for the raging fire of their relationship.
In this whirlwind of events, while trying to maintain control, Rob and Sharon must also learn to deal with her terrible friend; his eccentric Boston mother; and try to navigate their increasingly complicated lives.
4. Skam, 2015-2017
A Norwegian series that once broke all ratings records and became the most popular show in its homeland. The story revolves around the lives of five best friends from Oslo. Each season focuses on one character and tells the story from their point of view.
Skam is an extremely frank series with no taboos: it discusses gender identity, eating disorders, mental health and much more. But don't worry – the presence of serious topics does not take away from the show's humor.
Skam became so popular that the remakes were eventually filmed in France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the US. But if you haven't seen Skam yet, start with the original Norwegian series.
5. The Sex Lives of College Girls, 2021-...
