5 Actors You Totally Forgot Were on The Vampire Diaries
The Vampire Diaries has no shortage of famous faces. But these five will surprise you.
One of the most fun things about rewatching a series is spotting all the things you missed the first, second, or even third time. We have found some very big names that appeared in TVD.
We are betting you totally forgot these people made appearances on the show before they went on to become stars.
5. Taylor Kinney
You can be forgiven for missing this one. He only appeared in ten episodes as Mason Lockwood, Tyler’s uncle, before he went on to steal our hearts as Kelly Severide on Chicago Fire. He has also made appearances in the spin-offs, Chicago Med, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Justice.
4. Hayley Kiyoko
Before Hayley Kiyoko took the music world by storm, she tried her hand at acting. One of her lesser-known roles was her appearance in one episode of The Vampire Diaries. She portrayed the ill-fated roommate of Elena and Caroline, Megan King.
3. Rick Cosnett
We are officially deducting fan points from anyone who missed this guy. Cosnett played the sadistic Dr. Wes Maxfield, a major antagonist in The Vampire Diaries fifth season. He has since gone to a recurring role as Detective Eddie Thawne in The Flash.
2. Mckenna Grace
You likely recognise the adorable Mckenna Grace from Young Sheldon and her recurring role as Paige Swanson. She has also appeared in The Handmaid’s Tale, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and the chilling Annabelle Comes Home. But did you know that she was also in The Vampire Diaries as young Caroline, when she was just nine years old?
1. Stephen Amell
We have saved the biggest until last, and we are sure we do not need to tell you this guy is the star of Arrow, playing Oliver Queen, and has made many appearances as that character across the DC verse. He was also Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and most recently appeared in Heels as Jake Spade. When we saw him on The Vampire Diaries, he was Brady, a werewolf who was killed by Damon.
