3 Secrets Harry Spilled About Will & Kate's Royal Wedding in His Memoir
These revelations are news to many people.
Since leaving the British Royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made headlines several times with their controversial interviews. They've levelled accusations of racism at the monarchy and blamed the institution for causing thoughts of suicide. Naturally, this led to a falling out with Harry's family.
Things got even worse when Prince Harry published a memoir titled Spare in January. In the book, he makes strong claims about the British monarchy and reveals some secrets the royal family wouldn't want the general public to know.
Here are three revelations Prince Harry made about Prince William and Kate Middleton's big wedding in 2011.
-
Prince Harry wasn't his brother's best man.
People often think Prince Harry was his brother's best man, but that wasn't the case. The Duke of Sussex says that everyone just assumed it was him, and the palace didn't bother to set the record straight.
In reality, William's best men were his old friends, Thomas van Straubenzee and James Meade. Because of the misunderstanding, they were able to stay out of the media's spotlight.
-
Prince Harry thought he lost his brother after the wedding.
Harry confesses in his memoir that after Kate and William's wedding, he felt like he had lost his brother.
'I recall Willy walking her [Kate Middleton] back up the aisle. And as they disappeared through the door, into the carriage that would convey them to Buckingham Palace, into the eternal partnership they’d pledged, I recall thinking: Goodbye,' Harry explains. 'The brother I’d escorted into Westminster Abbey that morning was gone—forever. Who could deny it?'
Ironically, it was another wedding that created an even bigger rift between the two brothers later.

Prince William was hungover and stank of liquor at the ceremony.
In his book, Harry doesn't hold back when sharing his memories of the wedding. He says William had drunk too much the night before the wedding and looked awful the next day. He even says that William ‘reeked’ of rum.
Still, the wedding went off without a hitch, with the public the world over watching closely. And William and Kate are still happily married.
