3 Reasons Why The Voice 24 Was a Major Letdown
The season failed to meet fans' expectations.
Since its premiere on American TV in 2011, The Voice has been one of the most popular singing competitions. Beloved for its representation of talent – from the various contestants to the celebrity coaches – the show has spanned a whopping twenty-four seasons, with the twenty-fifth installment on its way.
It's been a few days since The Voice's twenty-fourth season came to an end and Huntley was crowned the winner. But fans are still discussing the latest installment of the popular singing competition. Interestingly enough, many viewers are disappointed with The Voice 24, which they say failed to live up to the success and popularity of its predecessor.
Here are just a few reasons why the twenty-fourth installment of the fan-favorite show isn't a hit.
Mediocre Final Performances
While viewers were most excited to find out who would be the winner of Season 24 of The Voice, many say that the finale wasn't impressive at all. While it was nice to see the finalists perform alongside their stellar coaches, the numbers weren't as spectacular as in previous seasons of the show. Also, the viewers didn't really enjoy the song choices. As for the guest performances, they also failed to wow the audience.
Perhaps the most intriguing feature of the finale was a special Barbie-themed musical number performed by this season's eliminated contestants. Which brings us to the next point.
Unremarkable Finalists
Sure, The Voice 24 finalists were all talented in their own right. Huntley's powerhouse vocals, Ruby Leigh's soft and emotional tone, and Mara Justine's charisma were all commendable, but this season had far more memorable contestants who were unfortunately eliminated. For example, Nini Iris and Mac Royals were some of the biggest fan favorites of Season 24. They had attractive personalities and great talent, which is why many viewers wished this season had a different set of finalists.
Poor Strategy
Given the initial success of The Voice 24, it is a wonder how it ended up being so unspectacular. The blind auditions this season were remarkable, and many fans had high expectations for this installment, but somewhere in the middle, things went downhill. For example, many people claim that the season was extremely entertaining until the Live Shows, when each coach had to cut their teams in half, leaving only three contestants. Of course, some bad decisions were made, which just goes to show that this season's strategy sucks.
