Have a Max subscription? We know how you can enjoy the rest of your summer.

With Succession, Barry, and Gossip Girl airing their finales earlier this year, and House of the Dragon, The White Lotus, Euphoria, and The Last of Us going on long hiatuses between seasons, Max users might be at a loss for what to watch next.

In fact, the HBO streaming service has never been short on content, and there are plenty of interesting shows to keep an eye out for. Here are three great series that have been unfairly overlooked by viewers behind all the buzz-creating projects.

Wellington Paranormal (2018–present, 4 seasons)

Just the fact that it's a spin-off of Taika Waititi's What We Do in the Shadows, which we assume you've already seen (please do if you haven't, it's a really enjoyable ride), should make you want to watch this series.

Wellington Paranormal, following two New Zealand police officers who investigate cases involving supernatural beings, is modeled after the original. Filmed in a hilarious mockumentary style, it's full of the best absurdist, deadpan, and sometimes dark humor.

Our Flag Means Death (2022–present, 1 season)

Viewers who tune in to this hilarious, delightfully queer, genre-busting pirate show can't help but become fans waiting for Season 2. The series follows gentleman turned pirate Stede Bonnet, brilliantly played by Rhys Darby, who is loosely based on a real historical figure.

During their less-than-smooth voyage, Bonnet and his dysfunctional crew encounter the infamous pirate Blackbeard, played by Taika Waititi, and the two captains fall in love. If you're not hooked on the show from the first minute, don't be discouraged. It gets exponentially better with each new episode.

Warrior (2019–present, 3 seasons)

Warrior has nothing to do with Taika Waititi or comedy, but it is a truly worthy and criminally underrated project. First, it's based on the writings of Bruce Lee. Second, it combines all of our favorite genres, martial arts, crime and drama, with an Old West setting. And finally, it has everything a blockbuster TV show needs: fast-paced action, unforgettable scenes, and an amazing story.

Andrew Koji stars as Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who comes to 1870s San Francisco to find his missing sister, only to get caught up in the infamous Tong Wars. You won't find a dull episode in Warrior.
