They say you should never meet your heroes – but some of your favorite actors really are awesome people.

Summary

  • Jacob Anderson really enjoyed his time on the GoT set, especially because he had great company
  • He manages the stress with the help of Emilia Clarke?
  • Clarke is a sweetheart, confirmed

In a recent conversation with Big Issue, Interview With a Vampire star Jacob Anderson unpacked the juicy new adaptation of Anne Rice's iconic story, the difficulties of working far from home, and his personal connections to the struggles of the vampire Louis.

He also dished a bit on his time on Game of Thrones. Fans will remember Anderson's minor but memorable character Grey Worm, the stoic and steel-jawed eunuch that led the Unsullied after being freed by Daenerys Targaryen. The former slave is a formidable fighter, but it's his tender relationship with the women around him that viewers remember best.

Great time on the GoT set

Anderson deals with a grueling schedule on Interview With a Vampire, but he told Big Issue that when the days get particularly rough he remembers two of the co-stars that were a real dream to work with:

'I also got to see Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage being joyful, brilliant people to be around in Game of Thrones. If there were days on 'Interview With The Vampire' when I was really tired, it was good to remember that Emilia used to get up at four in the morning to have that wig put on and she would be a delightful human being all day.'

Anderson isn't the only one with good things to say about Clarke (Daenerys) and Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister). Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) told Insider that Clarke has become a good friend, and frequently comes to his house to visit and play with his child. Peter Dinklage is equally beloved by his co-stars; Sibel Kekilli (who played Tyrion's lover Shae) told Reveal.Co.Uk:

'I love to work with Peter. There are two sorts of actor. One is always there just acting for themselves and they don't listen to you or really react when you act, but Peter is one of those rare actors. He isn't vain… He really listens to me.'

Although Clarke's time in the Game of Thrones world is pretty decisively over, there is a distant possibility that we might see Tyrion Lannister or Grey Worm again some day – HBO is reportedly working on a Jon Snow spinoff. Fingers crossed!
