15-Minute Cheesy Herb Toasts—Oven-Baked, Ultra Crispy, No Skillet Needed
Forget the frying pan: oven-baked toasts deliver a hearty, golden breakfast in minutes with zero fuss.
I am always in for a breakfast that looks like effort but mostly cooks itself. These oven-baked savory toasts skip the skillet situation entirely: soak slices of white loaf in an egg and milk mix loaded with grated cheese and herbs, slide them onto a sheet pan, and let the heat do the heavy lifting. You get that crisp, golden edge, a plush middle, and melty cheese. Simple, satisfying, and no flipping drama.
What you need (for 8–10 slices)
- White loaf or baton bread — 8–10 slices
- Eggs — 3
- Milk — 100 ml
- Hard cheese — 100 g
- Herbs (dill, parsley) — 1 bunch
- Salt and black pepper — to taste
How to make it
Whisk the eggs with the milk, a good pinch of salt, and black pepper until smooth.
Finely grate the cheese. Chop the dill and parsley. Stir both into the egg mixture until evenly combined.
Dip each bread slice into the mixture, coating both sides, and let any excess drip off. Arrange the slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
Bake at 190°C for about 15 minutes, until the tops turn golden.
Serve hot while the edges are crisp, the center stays soft, and the cheese is perfectly melted.
