10 Underrated Kiefer Sutherland Movies That Deserve More Credit

1. Flatliners (1990)

So, there's this group of five medical students who are way too curious for their own good. They hatch this absolutely bonkers plan to kill themselves and then immediately resuscitate to find out what's beyond the veil of death. Of course, things start to go sideways when they begin to experience haunting visions from their pasts.

2. Dark City (1998)

Part film-noir, part sci-fi mind-bender. We start in a city where it's perpetually nighttime. People's memories and identities are altered every night by a group of mysterious beings called the Strangers. Our man John Murdoch wakes up in a hotel room next to a murdered woman and realizes he's also immune to the Strangers' manipulations. Cue a whole bunch of chases and identity crises as John tries to find out who he really is, all while trying to get that darn sun to rise.

3. The Lost Boys (1987)

Good ol' Santa Clara, the "Murder Capital of the World". Two brothers, Michael and Sam, move to this seemingly quaint town only to discover it's infested with vampires. While the older brother Michael gets entangled with the bloodsuckers, younger Sam teams up with amateur vampire hunters to sort out the mess. Meanwhile, Michael starts exhibiting vampy tendencies, like flying and an aversion to sunlight. The goal here? Take down the head vampire before Michael becomes a fanger for good.

Ben Carson, a troubled ex-cop, takes a job as a night guard at a burned-down department store. What's eerie? The mirrors in the place show disturbing, often deadly, reflections. People in the mirror world make folks in the real world do horrifying things to themselves.

5. Eye for an Eye (1996)

After a woman's daughter is raped and murdered, she learns that the justice system is just going to slap the killer, Robert Doob, on the wrist and let him go. She tries to get justice the legal way, even going as far as hiring a private detective, but no dice. So, what's a grieving mom to do? Train herself for a vengeful showdown, apparently.

Now Stu has to figure out how to get out of this nightmare without getting a bullet in his head.

Vanessa doesn't take this lying down; instead, she shoots Bob and escapes, but that's just the beginning of her nightmarish journey through the criminal justice system.

9. To End All Wars (2001)

Set during World War II, this movie is focusing on a group of Allied soldiers in a Japanese POW camp.
