In a recent Collider chat, Ginnifer Goodwin (Judy) and Jason Bateman (Nick) talked about where their characters are emotionally and whether a third film is on the table.

The short version: they see Judy and Nick as learning to accept each other exactly as they are, and that mutual respect is changing Nick for the better. Goodwin joked that Judy does not need much fixing, and Bateman basically agreed, tossing up his hands about where a third story might go if they get the chance.

'I don't think it would be as long.'

That was Goodwin, reacting to the idea of jumping straight into a third movie rather than making fans wait years again. When the interviewer brought up the gap between the first and second films and mentioned the post-credits tease, both actors laughed that the interviewer had indeed seen what the movie was hinting at. Bateman asked if Goodwin meant a shorter runtime or a shorter wait; she clarified she meant getting the next one made sooner. She also joked about the cast not getting any younger, before adding that they look amazing. Hard to argue.
