Zootopia 2 Stampedes Toward A Massive Opening Weekend, Early Tracking Says
Zootopia 2 is stampeding toward a blockbuster debut, with early box office tracking pointing to a massive opening weekend when Disney’s sequel hits U.S. theaters next month. Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, the film reunites Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman as Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.

The early read on the box office
Per Box Office Theory, Zootopia 2 is currently tracking for a $115–$130 million opening weekend. That is the range as of now; with a few weeks to go, expect those numbers to wiggle once reviews and real word-of-mouth kick in.
The timing helps. This is the first major studio animated release since August’s The Bad Guys 2, so it basically has the family audience to itself for the holiday frame. For context, the first Zootopia opened to about $75.1 million in the United States and Canada back in 2016, then went the distance to $1.025 billion worldwide. If this tracking holds, the sequel starts well ahead of where the original began.
