Zootopia 2 Cast Revealed: Who’s Voicing Who in Disney’s Long-Awaited Sequel
Zootopia 2 is almost here, and the voice cast is stacked. Expect returning favorites, Shakira’s Gazelle, and a woolly wink from Ed Sheeran as sheep Ed Shearin, plus a host of new scene‑stealers in the full lineup.
Disney is finally rolling Zootopia back into theaters, and the sequel looks packed: returning favorites, a bunch of new voices, and one plot swing that could shake up how this world works. Here is who is playing who, what kicks off the story, and when you can actually see it.
So what is Zootopia 2 about?
The movie opens on something the city has never dealt with: a snake shows up at a fancy Zootopia gala. In this universe, snakes aren't part of day-to-day life with the other animals, so the room melts into panic. That sends our duo, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, chasing the mysterious serpent through the city.
The snake is Gary De'Snake, a pit viper voiced by Ke Huy Quan. At first, Judy and Nick are after him. As they dig in, the story starts pulling on threads about class and stereotypes, and it sounds like they stumble onto a bigger, very odd discovery about their city.
The leads are back
Ginnifer Goodwin returns as Officer Judy Hopps, the original film's optimistic, relentless rabbit who muscled her way into law enforcement in a city of much larger animals. Jason Bateman is back as Nick Wilde, the slick fox who became Judy's partner and, by the end of that first movie, something that looked a lot like a romance. Their banter and chemistry are still the engine here.
New face, big swing
Ke Huy Quan joins the franchise as Gary De'Snake, the pit viper at the center of that gala incident. The movie frames him as the target at first, but it sure sounds like there is more going on than a simple chase. If the series is about breaking assumptions, I'm betting Gary isn't just a convenient bad guy.

Little details worth flagging
Two things jump out. One, the story explicitly points out that snakes haven't been living alongside everyone else in Zootopia, which is a neat expansion of the world's rules. Two, this is a cameo buffet: Shakira is back, Ed Sheeran is literally playing a sheep named Ed Shearin, and there is an entire Lynxley family voiced by Andy Samberg, David Strathairn, Macaulay Culkin, and Brenda Song. It's playful, and it feels like the movie knows exactly how much people love this world and its oddball casting choices.
Who is steering this thing and when can we see it?
Jared Bush and Byron Howard are directing. Disney is clearly expecting another big run with this one, and honestly, the lineup justifies the hype.
Zootopia 2 opens in U.S. theaters on November 26, 2025.
