Zenless Zone Zero 2.5 Update: Claim a Free S-Rank Agent, New Outfit, and More

Zenless Zone Zero is closing out the year with an update that actually feels like a party, not a patch note dump. Version 2.5 — officially titled 'To Be Fuel for the Night' — lands with a free S-Rank you can keep, a flashy new headliner to pull, co-op at last (even if it is limited-time), and a pile of quality-of-life fixes that should make the day-to-day grind less of a chore.

When it drops and what you get for free

• Release date: December 30, 2025. Platforms: PC, mobile, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
• Free S-Rank: Zhao joins your roster just for logging in. She is a brand-new Ice Defense Agent from the Krampus faction who looks cute and hits like a team-wide stat stick, buffing your squad so everyone else hits harder.
• Currency: 1,000 Polychromes are being handed out as part of the Version 2.5 rewards announced on the Special Program stream.
• Leveling supplies: Log-in rewards also include enough materials to take an Agent to level 40. Yes, they are actually letting you level someone for free.
• Free outfit: Jane Doe gets a new skin at launch for a limited time. Miss the window and it moves to the shop as a paid cosmetic.
• Event freebies: The version event 'Filmgoer Thank-You Gift' is live during 2.5 and includes multiple rewards, one of which is an S-Rank Agent.
• Reruns: Agent Signal Search reruns are on the schedule if you are chasing older favorites.

The new headliner: Ye Shunguang

Version 2.5 debuts Ye Shunguang, an S-Rank Honed Edge Attack Agent and the game’s first dual-form Void Hunter. Translation: she has two modes to play with. Build up Qingming Sword Force, pop into her Enlightened Mind state, and you unlock a second set of attacks with alternate Ultimate animations. It is the first time ZZZ has gone this hard on a stance-switching kit, and it reads like a real shake-up for high-skill players.

In the story, Ye is the young senior disciple of Yunkui Summit and a central figure in the upcoming finale. If you care about narrative relevance when you pull, this is your moment.

Story update and co-op finally happening

The main story pushes into the Waifei Peninsula with the next chapter, and there is a clear runway to a finale with Ye front and center.

Also new: co-op. The limited-time mode 'Joint Investigation: The Divine Maze' lets three players squad up and actually run content together. It is not a permanent playlist (yet), but it is a start.

Quality-of-life fixes you will actually feel

A handful of Agents are getting buffs and tweaks: Soldier 11, Grace, Soldier 0 - Anby, Ellen, and Burnice are all on the tuning bench. Expect a healthier roster across the board.

Farming gets easier thanks to a new sweep function for Combat Simulation stages, so you can auto-clear instead of babysitting repeats.
