Zanessa False Alarm: Why Efron & Hudgens' Rumoured Romance is Unlikely
Fans feel that there is insufficient evidence to support the rumours that Vanessa and Zac are back together.
More than a decade after their split, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, aka Zanessa, are still making headlines and appearing in fan discussions. This time it's because of rumors that they're getting back together, spread by various social media users in numerous discussions.
Thus, Redditor u/leticiaaleixo posted a screenshot on the celebrity gossip subreddit that purportedly came from the popular gossip account DeuxMoi.
The screenshot shows an anonymous source pointing out the romance between the two stars, who are not specifically named. However, it is hinted that the celebs had a 'messy relationship' in the 2010s, and their recurring affair would shock a lot of people since one of the parties is not publicly single at the moment.
Zac and Vanessa were one of Disney Channel's most popular and fan-favourite couples when they started dating on the set of High School Musical. Their relationship lasted five years and ended in 2010, much to the dismay of many fans. The DeuxMoi rumours come as Efron, who is currently single, has started following Hudgens on Instagram after years of keeping his distance, leading some fans to believe that Zanessa may be back together.
However, the majority of fans believe that the rumoured romance is unlikely. Here's why.
- Zanessa was not messy
Vanessa and Zac's relationship was anything but messy. Perhaps the biggest confusion occurred when a fan photographed the couple in front of a sex toy store. But honestly, it was more fun than messy.
- Zac and Vanessa did not date in the 2010s
Another discrepancy with the DeuxMoi gossip is that Zanessa ended in 2010, so Hudgens and Efron couldn't have been dating in the 2010s.
- Vanessa wouldn't cheat on her fiancé
Hudgens is engaged to Major League Baseball player Cole Tucker.
While this could be what the anonymous source was referring to when they said one of the parties involved was not single, fans don't believe Vanessa would cheat on Tucker. She always speaks highly of him and seems genuinely happy in the relationship.
- They were not in LA
DeuxMoi's source writes that the couple has been seen in LA several times. But both Vanessa and Zac have been elsewhere in recent weeks. Hudgens was filming the next Bad Boys in the Philippines and Georgia while Efron was in Mexico with his family.
So it looks like even if DeuxMoi's gossip is true, it may be about a different couple.
