Zack Snyder Fans Plot Sabotage of James Gunn's Superman

With James Gunn's Superman flying into theaters on July 11, some Snyder loyalists have launched what they seem to think is a clever plan to sabotage the film's release.
Still waving the #RestoreTheSnyderVerse flag, these die-hards believe Gunn "fired the first shot and killed the Snyderverse," so now it's time for payback.
The master plan? Step one: post spoilers all over social media (which, ironically, means they'll have to see the movie). Step two: flood review sites with negative ratings to "balance the bias." Step three: reserve tickets but don't buy them, so actual paying fans can't get seats. Yes, really.
The post laying all this out was quickly dunked on across the internet. Reactions ranged from "childish" to "toxic," with some suggesting it might be time to finally accept that Cavill's Superman isn't coming back, and Snyder's DC run is done.
This all comes after years of online battles over Snyder's vision, culminating in the release of the Justice League Snyder Cut, and the eventual takeover of DC Studios by James Gunn and Peter Safran—who made it crystal clear that the old DCEU was finished. That didn't sit well with the more hardcore fans, many of whom still insist that Henry Cavill should be the only Superman.
But Gunn's Superman is leaning into classic Man of Steel traits that haven't been seen in a while, and early box office projections suggest it's going to be huge—possibly the biggest DC opening ever, well ahead of Snyder's films. So despite the online noise, the "Summer of Superman" looks to be very much on track.
In short: the internet might be loud, but so far, the sabotage effort is getting laughed off the screen—and Superman is still expected to soar.
