You'll be taken aback by your own inattentiveness!

Young Sheldon has been rocking the television for six years now. Accompanied by its hit parent show — The Big Bang Theory — for two years, the spin-off had an easy start. But with time, it has proven its own value, and many fans even think that the prequel is greater than the original, boasting a strong cast of actors who are now firmly associated with no other series than Young Sheldon.

But of course, these talented actors weren't new to the job when they were hired to act in the series, and one (actually, two) of the Young Sheldon stars appeared in another huge sitcom earlier in her career.

Talented and charismatic, Raegan Revord plays Melissa 'Missy' Cooper on Young Sheldon, earning love and praise from the fandom and critics. But did you know the young actress also had a small role on the hit comedy show Modern Family?

That's right, the Young Sheldon star made two short appearances on the ABC show — in Season 6, Episode 5, Raegan played Lily's new classmate Megan in a different teacher's class, and she played the part once again in Season 7, Episode 14.

If you are now racking your brains, wondering how come you didn't notice the familiar face when first seeing Revord in Young Sheldon, there's actually a good excuse. The actress was only six and eight years old respectively when playing Megan in those Modern Family episodes.

She starred in the show a few years prior to her appearance as Missy on Young Sheldon, so it's no wonder Raegan had changed quite a bit during those years!

By the way, there is one more actor who starred on both shows. And you should be ashamed to not have noticed!

Ed Begley Jr., the actor behind Young Sheldon's Dr. Grant Linkletter, made two appearances on Modern Family as well, portraying DeDe Pritchett's second husband Jerry in Episode 9, Season 10 and Episode 8, Season 11 in 2018–2019. That's just when his character was introduced in Young Sheldon Season 2, which means that the actor starred on both shows simultaneously.

So here's a bit of new information for all the fans out there. Make sure you pay close attention to cameo performers in your favorite shows, as they may later grow to be major stars of another hit series like Young Sheldon!

The next episode of Young Sheldon airs on Apr 27, 2023.
