X-Men Icon Kelsey Grammer, 70, Welcomes Baby No. 8
At 70, X-Men’s Beast Kelsey Grammer has welcomed baby No. 8, revealing the news while promoting his upcoming memoir Karen: A Brother Remembers, a tribute to his late sister Karen.
Kelsey Grammer is having a very big week. The 'Frasier' icon and X-Men's resident blue Beast just welcomed his eighth child at 70, and he is doing it while promoting a memoir about his late sister. That is a lot of life events in one press tour.
The announcement
Grammer dropped the news on the 'Pod Meets World' podcast, casually revealing that he and his wife, Kayte Walsh, just added a new baby to the family a few days ago. He also confirmed the name on air as the hosts Rider Strong, Danielle Fishel, and Will Friedle cheered him on. Fishel even offered a quick 'Welcome, Christopher.'
'We just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids. It was like three days ago.'
'Christopher has just joined the family.'
How we got to eight
Grammer and Walsh have been married since 2011, and this is their fourth child together. Before Kayte, he was married three times and also had one child with a former girlfriend. Here is the current roster:
- With Kayte Walsh (married since 2011): Faith (12), Gabriel (10), James (8), and newborn Christopher
 - With first wife Doreen Alderman: Spencer
 - With ex-girlfriend Barrie Buckner: Greer (33)
 - With third wife Camille Meyer: Mason (23) and Jude (20)

The memoir he is promoting
Grammer is out doing press for 'Karen: A Brother Remembers,' his upcoming book about his sister, Karen Grammer, who was raped and murdered in Colorado in 1975 when she was 18. According to Grammer, the tragedy grew out of a robbery at the place where she worked and devastated their family. He says much of the book covers their early life together and the fallout that followed.
On the podcast, Grammer noted that most of his kids do not know much about their aunt, and he is keeping the book away from the younger ones for now. As he put it, some of the details are 'brutal,' and his younger 'cluster' is not ready to read them yet.
So, congrats to the Grammers on baby Christopher—and if you are picking up the memoir, be prepared. It sounds like a tough, necessary read.
