Sinners and Loki standout Wunmi Mosaku has joined The Social Reckoning, Aaron Sorkin’s hotly anticipated follow-up to his 2010 hit.

Wunmi Mosaku just jumped onto Aaron Sorkin's next Facebook movie, and yeah, that sentence is doing a lot of work. The Social Reckoning is being billed as a companion to The Social Network, and Mosaku is the latest addition to a cast that already reads like a very specific Hollywood fever dream.

Who is playing who

  • Jeremy Strong is set to play Mark Zuckerberg. Yes, that Jeremy Strong. Yes, Zuckerberg.
  • Mikey Madison is Frances Haugen, the Facebook engineer turned whistleblower.
  • Jeremy Allen White is Jeff Horwitz, the Wall Street Journal reporter whose series pulled back the curtain on the company.
  • Bill Burr is in the mix too, role under wraps.
  • And now, Wunmi Mosaku joins the ensemble. No word yet on her character.

Sorkin wrote The Social Network, but this time he’s writing and directing. No David Fincher this go-round, which is its own storyline.

"A companion piece to the hit film, The Social Network, Sorkin's original screenplay tells the true story of how Frances Haugen (Madison), a young Facebook engineer, enlists the help of Jeff Horwitz (White), a Wall Street Journal reporter, to go on a dangerous journey that ends up blowing the whistle on the social network's most guarded secrets."

What the movie is actually tackling

Early word is that the film digs into Facebook's own internal findings on how its products affected teens and kids, how misinformation spread on the platform and fueled real-world violence, and how that all intersected with the January 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol. Expect it to widen out beyond the U.S. too, looking at the company's influence in other countries and the way its tools amplified unrest elsewhere. In other words, this is not just a boardroom drama with hoodies.

The Mosaku factor

Mosaku was most recently on screen opposite Michael B. Jordan in Ryan Coogler's Sinners. You probably also know her as Hunter B-15 on Marvel's Loki, and she popped up in Deadpool & Wolverine. She’s a sharp addition to a movie that already has plenty of heat.

Release date and a quick reality check

The Social Reckoning hits theaters on October 9, 2026.

Confession time: I’m torn on this one. The Social Network had the unfortunate label of being the Facebook movie, but Sorkin’s writing, Fincher’s surgical direction, and Jesse Eisenberg’s performance turned it into one of the defining films of its decade. I’ll give this follow-up the benefit of the doubt because Sorkin is still one of the best screenwriters working. As a director, though? He hasn’t blown me away yet. Prove me wrong, Aaron.
