William Shatner just blasted away hospitalization rumors, assuring fans on Instagram he’s fine and punctuating it with a throwback shot of his Mark Twain from a 2015 Murdoch episode.

William Shatner would like you to know he is fine. After a flurry of reports claimed the Star Trek icon was rushed to the hospital, he popped up on Instagram to say: relax.

Shatner speaks (with a little Twain flair)

Shatner posted a photo of himself dressed as Mark Twain from a 2015 episode of Murdoch Mysteries, leaning into the bit with a very Twain line: "rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated!" Classic Shatner move.

He followed it with a more straightforward update, basically swatting down the whole story and taking a swing at the rumor mill.

"I over indulged. I thank you all for caring but I’m perfectly fine. I keep telling you all: don’t trust tabloids or AI!"

That last part is some inside baseball worth noting. Celeb health scares spread fast, and the AI callout is Shatner pointing at the flood of auto-generated nonsense that spins off a single sketchy report.

So what actually happened?

Earlier in the day, reports said Shatner had been taken to the hospital this week. His agent, Harry Gold, told outlets he’d had "an issue with his blood sugar" that needed attention. He was monitored and discharged the same day. In other words: a scare, not a crisis.

  • Report hits that Shatner was rushed to the hospital with a blood sugar issue.
  • He’s monitored and released the same day.
  • Hours later, Shatner posts on Instagram, jokes via Mark Twain, and says he overindulged but is perfectly fine. Also: do not trust tabloids or AI.

Bottom line: Shatner is okay, and he’s telling you so himself. The rumor machine can stand down.
